1950s Majolica Style Porcelain Bird Figurine #16466

This very old porcelain bird figurine has been in my bedroom glass curio since the early 1960s.

It is an old Japaense Majolica style bird that was made in the 1940s and has the UCAGCO mark on the bottom, who was in business only from 1947 to 1961.

Medium in size, the bird is 4 1/4" or 108 mm tall. The biggest problem with old bird figurines is finding one in perfect condition. Most old bird figurines have chips on the wings, the tail, or the beak : but not this one. The bird is in excellent condition with only some very small scratches and light spots of paint wear.
