Godinger Repousse Silver Swan Figurine Napkin Holder #19004
Back in the 1940s and thru the 1960s, when a host had friends over for a luncheon or dinner, she would take out her Godinger Silver repousse cloth napkin holders. There were all kind of things like gravy boats, fruit bowls, silverware, candlesticks and fancy place card holders and napkin holders.
Today, they dont really serve that purpose but rather as a beautiful silver art display. Yes, you can use it for mail or something creative, but it is best admired on a book shelf or in a glass hutch.
This swan measures 6 1/4" tall x 6 1/2" long. It is in excellent condition with no loss of silverplate as it has been kept in a glass hutch for the better part of 60 years. There are no scratches, discoloration (except on the bottom from resting), no dings, dents, or repairs. It is signed inside Godinger, Italy, 1984, which is the pattern number, not the year.
