Rare 1950s Vintage Italian Marble Mosaic Box Poppy Flower #16755

This is an exceptional vintage Italian hand made box; one that is very rare to find. It was made in Italy in the 1950s.

This box is white marble; not alabaster. The lid has a very unique poppy flower mosaic of marble and slate. The poppy flower is marbled colors of orange and red; the leaves are red, blue, burgundy, and gray. This white marble box is not polished or clear coated. It is natural buffed marble with a smooth silky feel. It can be used as a jewelry box, a trinket box, for business cards, or for other trinkets.

Medium in size, the box is 4 3/8" long x 3 3/8" wide x 1 1/2" tall or 110 mm x 86 mm x 33 mm. This box has never been used and has sat untouched in one of my glass curio cabinets for 30+ years.

The entire box is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no chips, cracks, scratches, scuffs, or missing inlay. There are no stains or discoloration to the white marble. On the left hand lower corner of the lid there is a very tiny, almost microscopic, corner edge wear blemish; hardly worth noting. The box is not signed.
