Elephant Necklace Big MOP Sea Shell Pendant 1960s Vintage Jewelry #11848

Item number: 11848

This is a very exceptional elephant necklace! It is a handmade piece that is probably one of a kind. It dates from the 1960s and is a combination of different types of conch shells and Mother of Pearl.

The focal point of the necklace is the large hand carved elephant head medallion. The elephant is Mother of Pearl that was carved from a large nautilus shell. The elephant is attached to a cluster of charms. There are seashells slivers, plastic blue and green beads, a fancy antiqued gold filigree bell cap, and a small ivory celluloid elephant.

All of the beads on the pearly white strands are polished nuggets of white conch shell. These polished conch shell beads are very uncommon to find on an old seashell necklace. The original old brass jump ring and large spring clasp are in place.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
