Rare 1920s Art Deco Ribbed Glass Vanity Powder Box
# 15733
$95.00
Dont be fooled by what you think might just look like a glass box. This is not just any box. This is a very hard to find original Art Deco design. Made in the 1920s, this classic Art Deco depression glass box was originally made as a lady's powder box. The optics of ribbed glass with concentric lines is very eye catching.
There are things about old glass that make it more than just glass. In over 1000 glass patterns of glass ware that were made during the 1930s Depression Era, maybe only a handful incorporated concentric lines in the glass which was popular in the 1920s Art Deco Era.
This round box is squatted and bulbous with horizontal ribs in the glass on the base and concentric circular ribs on the lid as well. The four feet have wide vertical ribs that extend up from the base, dividing the design into four sections. The lid has a glass finial for easy use.
Medium petite in size, the box is 4" or 10 cm wide.
The entire box is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no chips, scuffs, dings, cracks, or wear to the glass. The box is not signed.
