This black and clear Art Deco glass necklace is a very unique monochromatic design and the necklace has the original matching earrings. The glass is unusual old Bohemian sparkling lead crystal glass made into faceted rhondells! This rhondell shape is very uncommon to find in Art Deco glass jewelry. The necklace and the earrings are all signed West Germany and this set was made in the 1920-1930 era. This shape of glass bead is very Art Deco but was made for many decades before, but predominantly made in the 1920s and 1930s. As the clear glass and black glass beads alternate, the necklace and earrings have a unique monochromatic look. All of the rhondells are spaced with small black glass beads so none of the rhondells can rub against each other. The decorative portion of the necklace is 12" or 30 cm long. One end has the original matching beaded extension chain, but the necklace was still short. I have added a few inches of new silver metal chain so that the necklace can be hooked anywhere between 16 1/2" and 18 1/2" long, or 42 cm to 47 cm. The rhondells on the necklace are 7/16" or 10 mm wide. The hoop style earrings are screw backs. The glass beads are smaller on the hoops. The hoops are 1 1/16" or 2.7 cm wide and 1 1/2" or 4 cm long. All of the rhondells are in perfect condition with no chips or cracks and the necklace and earrings are impeccably clean. The brass screw backs have a patina from age. The entire set is in exceptional condition for age.Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new luxury presentation jewelry box.
