Made in the 1920-1930 era, the unique design of this handmade antique brooch indicates it was either made in Spain, Italy, or Portugal. The focal point of the brooch is a large square Venetian glass turquoise cab with gold veins. The layered Edwardian style setting is made of gold, silver, and copper metals. Look closely at the front and back of the metal work and you can see the complicated work of "confetti" tool designs, rope and bar coiled frames, and applied scrolls and bars. The turquoise glass cab is set in a handmade copper bezel with dog tooth prongs.Medium in size, the brooch is 1 3/4" long x 1 1/4" tall or 44 mm x 32 mm. The glass cab is 3/4" or 21 mm wide. The brooch is in spectacular well cared for condition. It is microscopically clean with no imperfections to the glass cab. The glass cab is glossy and bright with no scratches, chips, scuffs, or scratches. The unique metal work is also clean and bright with no imperfections or flaws. The back of the brooch has the original fine working safety clasp. The setting on the back of the glass cab has some tiny dings which are probably jewelers tool marks from when the brooch was made. The brooch is not signed.Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
