This hand painted porcelain salt and pepper set was made in the 1930-1940 era. They are a Limoge style set, or mimic the style of antique hand painted Limoge porcelain wares made in Bavaria or Germany from that time. These styles were copied by the Japanese long ago. This set it signed Made in Japan, in a very old green block print signatures. This set has never been used and the pair is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There is no paint wear and no scratches, chips, or repairs. The original corks are in place and in fine shape.Medium in size, the shakers are 3" or 75 mm tall. Note: The MIJ signatures are hard to read and crossed out for some reason. Perhaps at one time, sometime thought crossing out the signatures would eradicate the fact they were made in Japan. They are excellent Limoge look-a-likes.
