This gold wreath pin is not vintage Acrostic jewelry, but it is something very similar. It dates from the early 1960s and when purchased, it was a custom-made piece of jewelry from a jeweler. It was made to be given to a mother or grandmother and the gemstones represent the birth months of the children or grandchildren. 
 
On this pin, there are 6 children or grandchildren. 1 Diamond (April), 2 Emerald (May), Aquamarine (March), and Two Tourmaline Stones (October). These are not real gemstones but colored crystal equivalents of birthstones. The 5 remaining clear crystals were not replaced, not until more children were born.
 
This pin is signed Van Dell 1/20 12kt GF. The pin is in pristine condition with no signs of wear or loss of gold. All of the gemstones are original and present. All are sparkling except for a few of the old clear glass stones that show some lack of luster from age. The pin has the original fine working safety clasp and measures 1 1/4" wide.
