This is a very unique Venetian glass necklace. 

This very elegant formal design was made in Italy in the 1950s and the blown glass beads are called wedding cake beads. This necklace is unique because the wedding cake beads are more modern in design opposed to the traditional wedding cake beads that were made in earlier decades. What that means is these beads are more refined or more perfectly made. On most earlier designs, wedding cake beads were very haphazardly made. The necklace is also very ornamental with many good filigree beads and gold filigree flower bell caps. 

All of the blown glass wedding cake beads are different sizes and shapes as they were handmade. The glass beads are gold gilt with applied white enamel frosting. 

An elegant long design, the necklace is 36" long or 91 cm long. The largest glass beads are about 15 mm. The necklace has the original antique style diamond shape filigree insert clasp. The entire necklace is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. All of the glass beads are perfect with no chips, cracks, or loss of frosting. There is no loss of gold or gold wear on any of the gold beads.
