Large fantasy flower brooch in a flowing design ~ 18 grams of thick wax cast solid sterling silver.
Dating from the 1950's, this Cyrva flower brooch is a very rare find. Cyrva jewelry is rare in any regard, but his large pin is far from the norm of their typical jewelry, which was usually small pins and charms of whimsical, fairy like elfin creatures. This flower has the same fantasy inspired design.
It measures approximately 3" tall x 2" wide. The areas of this pin that are less handled, the edges and recesses, have a gold vermeil finish. The back has a gold vermeil finish as well. This pin could have been all gold vermeil when it was new, or it could have been only highlights. Today the finish is a combination of both sterling silver and gold vermeil.
Exceptional condition with no scratches or imperfections. Retains a nice aged patina and is also very clean. Has the original fine working sterling vermeil safety clasp and bar pin. Signed Sterling and Cyrva on the back.
Cyvra is the hallmark of Vera and Cryril Wood and they started making sterling and gold jewelry in the 1950's. They used the lost wax process for their jewelry designs, hand carved by wax and cast. They created jewelry for Oleg Cassini in the 1960's and also designed for William Ruser. Cyvra pieces are rare and highly sought after.
Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
* You can add a silver brooch slider to convert this pin to a pendant by checking the option box.
