Made in the 1950s, these Atomic Age retro cufflinks are designer signed Foster.  Foster was a very famous cufflink maker and they made many exemplary designs. They never became as famous as the likes of Swank, Anson, or Hickok, but they were well known to those who purchased cufflinks in the 1950-1960 era.

These orb or spiral cufflinks are made of thick gold plate or rolled gold with a mirror finish. The gold is a rich light yellow shade. The domed black cabs at the center are acrylic.

I don't think any cufflink collectors can tell you a thing about Foster, but I can tell you a little. There is not much information available. I know they applied for a patent with logo in 1952 under the name Foster Metal Products Inc. They hailed from Attleboro, MA and I believe they were in business since 1937. Their patent expired in 1994.

Medium petite in size, the cufflinks are 7/8" or 23 mm wide.  The pair is in excellent clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. There is no gold wear or loss of gold and no scratches, scuffs, or dings. There are some very microscopic hints of gentle handling or fine swirls from polishing. Both cufflinks are signed Foster.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new luxury presentation cufflink box.
