Of all the daisy jewelry ever made, my favorite to collect over the past 40 years are the old celluloid daisy pins that were made in the 1950-1960 era. There were many different designs. This one is very rare as the celluloid daisies are piled high and stacked on top each other in a high dome.
 
The white petals are made of flexible celluloid and have a soft feathery feel. The canary yellow beads are polished plastic. Turn the pin over and the satin textured gold metal brooch setting is a style that was used by Sherman of Canada, however I don't know if Sherman made this brooch as it is not signed. Most Sherman brooches are high end designs typically made of flamboyant crystals and glass cabs. 
 
This is a refreshing everyday design. The brooch is large at 2 1/8" or 56 mm wide and the daisies are piled 1 1/8" or 29 mm high. The entire brooch is in pristine like new microscopically clean condition with no imperfections or signs of wear. The back has the original fine working safety clasp.
