Of all the daisy jewelry ever made, my favorite to collect over the past 40 years are the old celluloid daisy pins that were made in the 1950-1960 era. There were many different designs. This one is very rare as the celluloid daisies are piled high and stacked on top each other in a high dome. The white petals are made of flexible celluloid and have a soft feathery feel. The canary yellow beads are polished plastic. Turn the pin over and the satin textured gold metal brooch setting is a style that was used by Sherman of Canada, however I don't know if Sherman made this brooch as it is not signed. Most Sherman brooches are high end designs typically made of flamboyant crystals and glass cabs. This is a refreshing everyday design. The brooch is large at 2 1/8" or 56 mm wide and the daisies are piled 1 1/8" or 29 mm high. The entire brooch is in pristine like new microscopically clean condition with no imperfections or signs of wear. The back has the original fine working safety clasp.Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
