The day is fast approaching when women will wish they had to foresight to collect vintage wood bead necklaces. Not every wood bead necklace, but those composed of unique vintage beads from various types of wood from around the world. They are fast becoming hard to find, but few know anything about old wood beads.
This earthy wood bead necklace was made in the 1960s and differs greatly from designs that were made in the 1970s. Wood beads in the 1960s were primarily designs that looked like children's building blocks, or old styles of beads you may remember that were sold to make macramé wall hangings.
The beads are a distinct Cubist style and were made in the USA. In the 1970s and later, imported carved wood beads had more perfected lines and curves as machines became more efficient. This necklace has a wide variety of beads in different shapes, textures, sizes and colors. The large faceted red bead is 1 1/8" wide and the grooved light tan tube beads are 1 1/4" long x 7/8" wide. The rest of the beads are satin navy blue, medium brown, dark brown, purple, and honey. The necklace has a silver metal barrel screw clasp and is 23 1/2" long overall. All of the beads are in exceptional clean condition with no chips, scratches, or scuffs. All of the beads show no signs of wear and are not faded or dry.Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.
