If you don't know about the wild and wacky beads that were made in Hong Kong in the 1960s, you're missing out on a great niche in vintage jewelry collecting! In the 1960s Hong Kong made some of the most unusual beads the world has ever seen. The lifespan of bead production and jewelry exported to the US from Hong Kong was very short lived. They were put out of business by the Japanese who took over the market in the 1970s. Then, the Japanese were put out of business in the 1980s by China; and hence, all the imports combined sadly led to the demise of the entire US designer jewelry empire. This fruity lemon lime necklace is 3 strands of beads in lemon yellow, bright green, and sea foam green. The most interesting beads are the translucent ribbed orbs; hollow inside with a yellow bead inside of the orb. There are elliptical wafer beads and shell shapes and the yellow beads have a granular or sugar texture. All of the beads are plastic with the exception of the gold foil glass seed bead spacers. The necklace can be hooked between 16 1/2" and 18 1/2" long or 42 cm to 47 cm. The bright green orb beads are 16 mm. The original matching extension chain is in place and the metal hook is signed Hong Kong. The entire necklace is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no missing or damaged beads. It is obvious the necklace has never been worn.Comes gift wrapped and shipped in new presentation necklace box.
* If you would like the necklace to be longer you can add an extension chain by checking the option box.
