Designer signed AK for Anne Klein, these satin gold clip earrings were made in the early to mid 1980's when Donna Karan was one of the head designers. To me, they represent and era when breast cancer awareness was not prevalent and sadly, Anne Klein died in 1974 at age 50 from breast cancer. These clip earrings are Retro Modern ribbon design in satin gold and the influence of Donna Karan is very evident in this design. Forget about buying or collecting new Anne Klein designs. The designs made in the 1970-1980s are exceptional investment pieces. After Anne died in 1974 Karan took over. When Donna Karan left in 1984, and that was the end of this great fashion duo and the unique designs they created. If you're a young collector take my advice and build yourself a nest egg of Anne Klein jewelry from this era. This is one designer that has appreciated rapidly and will continue to do so - as long as you know what pieces to collect. The wide semi-hoop is curled at the bottom and trimmed with raised borders on the sides. Medium in size and light weight to wear, the earrings are about 1 1/4" long x 7/8" wide or 32 mm x 23 mm. Both earrings are in perfect pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws and have never been worn; some very light and microscopic signs of gentle handling. The earrings have their original new padded ear cushions.Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.* The light or white spots on the gold in the photos is just reflection of the lighting.
