I bought puffed gold metal dolphin hoop earrings in 1979 in the Florida Keys. These hoops are really HUGE but they are not heavy to wear as the polished gold metal is hollow and puffed. 
 

     
 
The earrings are for pierced ears. They measure 2 1/2" long or 6.3 cm. 
 
The gold metal is slightly aged and there is some very minor wear from handling. There are no dings or major imperfections.
