This English transfer ware bird plate bears the Minton Company mark that dates from 1842 to 1883. This old songbird Minton pattern is a very hard to find. 

The plate is a 7 1/2" salad plate with 24kt gold trim around the perimeter. The plate is in superb condition for age with the high gloss shine and no wear to the transfer ware pattern. The plate has not been used in 40 years that I have owned it. 

There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. The gold trim has only very light wear from handling, hardly worth noting. If you hold the plate to a right angle, a few small, faint scratches in the top clear coat can be seen at the center area.
