Jack Middour has been making pottery in Pennsylvania for so long he is practically a legend.
 
He has long been influenced by styles of colonial potters and his designs are now one of a kind in that genre. Snap up all that you can now because that is what collectors are doing. This wheel thrown weed pot mini-jug with loop handle has perfect form and it is not an amateur piece of pottery. It has consistent, even, thickness and it is not fat or bulging or over weight. This is a raku pot and the glaze is very exceptional raku glaze that is metallic copper red. The salt glaze around the bottom is a superb mix of grey-green and brown pops.There are no big bubbles or inconsistencies in the glaze, with the exception of a couple of very tiny glaze pops that occur naturally during the firing process, especially with raku. 
 
Medium petite in size, this weed pot jug is 5 1/4" tall x 3 1/2" wide or 13 cm x 9 cm. The entire jug is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no scratches, scuffs, chips, or signs of wear. The bottom is signed Middour.
